Retrofit: Swinging At Lincoln Center

This Monday marked the opening night of Midsummer Night Swing, one of the amazing events series that makes summer in New York so great. They roll out a big dance floor and bring live acts and DJs in for a big party, plus dance instructors to help newbies out. I'm no swing dancer, but I definitely dressed the part.

You've seen this skirt before, but the styling here makes so much more sense to me now. The wide belt is better than the thinner one I wore the first time and the petticoat gives the circle skirt more shape. And check out my saddle shoe Vans! I'm so in love with these. I got them about two months ago and I've hardly taken them off since. My boyfriend and I had a great time that night, even though we were just learning. We're definitely going to look into some swing lessons.
