Sequins and Sass

Last week, I asked for help trying to put together an outfit for the 6th Bi-Annual Jazz Age Lawn Party on Governors Island. And then I didn't go. It's killing me. Last week was pretty rainy in New York and they predicted rain for almost the entire afternoon on Saturday. I didn't want to be caught in the rain with nothing to sit on but a blanket a ferry ride standing between me and my apartment, so I went to Fort Greene Park and enjoyed a lovely day at the park. I got to spend time with my lovely cousins and wore a great vintage belt I picked up from Giana at The Greedy Seagull.

Though I'm going to have to wait until August to enjoy the Jazz Age Lawn Party, I did go to a fabulous event that combined two of the things I love most: old movies and drag queens. The lovely Hedda Lettuce hosted an interactive screening of Mommie Dearest. It was fantastic. Vulgar and hilarious. Take a look at the photos and write up here.

Faye Dunaway's face is almost as scary as her antics. The famous, much parodied wire hanger scene:
