Long Beach's Retro Row

I've had a busy week settling back into my New York life after a wonderful week-long vacation in L.A. Work and non-work have been nonstop, which is why it's taken me so long to get up my account of my dreamy trip to Retro Row in Long Beach.

Retro Row is a few blocks of shops carrying antique furniture, collectibles, and of course, vintage and repro clothes. The shops are lovely and the salespeople are so friendly. Prices are great (I found that in a lot of places it's true: vintage is cheaper on the West Coast than on the East Coast), and the salespeople were delightful.

I snapped up these owl earrings for $5 at Songbird, a darling shop that has actual songbirds in cages at the counter. I'm still trying to decide if they're cute or ugly. Thoughts?

Meow calls itself a vintage shopper's parade and it's so true. Every surface is covered with fascinating stuff, there are great finds and the decor! Well, let's just say when I got my hands on my fairy godmother/cousin's Canon PowerShot, I went a little nuts.

I nearly died when I saw this. Precious!
I wanted to see those signs lit up so  badly

My darling was then kind enough to snap a glamour shot under a sign I really liked.

  1. I love those dressing room doors and the earrings are cute! :)

  2. I nearly died when I first visited Meow, it's sooooo lovely in much to choose from :) I'm lucky enough to live 5 minutes or so away..when I have a larger budget, it's the first place I'll go!

Thanks so much for your comments!
