Gah, it's taken me so long to get to this, but I definitely wanted to recap my vintage birthday celebrations (note the plural. This may take more than one post). My birthday weekend was really quite nice, despite being too sick and congested to do much of anything that Friday night.
Saturday I went to Dances of Vice's The Diamond Ace party with the Boy. I don't know a whole lot about the neo-noir films of the 1960s, so I kept it pretty basic and did my best 30s look, wearing a wrap dress with flutter sleeves.

Cocktail hat/fascinator - La China Loca
Dress - Macy's from a million years ago
Satin pumps - DSW
Seamed Pretty Polly tights - Peek Brooklyn
I tried to smoke up the eyes a little more than I usually do with red lips. These beautiful 1960s faux pearl and cubic zirconium clip-on earrings came from the Brooklyn Flea because a girl definitely needs sparkle on her birthday.
My friends also got dressed to the nines. Check out Kelsey's Tippi Hedren get-up.
Kelsey/Tippi was nice enough to get up onstage with me when it was time for the costume contest. Hard Case Crime, a publisher of vintage and modern pulp, sponsored the event and gave books as prizes. Except I got a book just by mentioning it was my birthday.
As for the Scandal! Intrigue! Birthday! Giveaway, the winner is Sarah of Sarah Reads Too Much! Thanks to everyone who entered.
