It's a bar that has literally just a bar and some low seats in the front. That doesn't stop them from hosting burlesque once a week and making a special exception for Gal Friday and Dandy Wellington and His Band last week. And what Nurse Bettie lacks in space it more than makes up for in charm; the bartenders are really friendly and you can nibble on breadsticks and crackers with your drinks.

The band was great as usual--there's nothing like seeing burlesque with a live band. Gal got really up close and personal with the audience; the shyest girls blushed hilariously. After her performance she made me blush a bit too, telling me I was pretty and shouldn't be afraid to take one of her classes at the New York School of Burlesque. She put this ridiculous idea in my head that I might one day be a stage kitten. She also really liked my dress:
