Whiskey-drinking Flappers

I'm really excited for this weekend's East Ville des Folies. My goal, or hope, is to come away liking at least one whiskey. I've never been a big whiskey drinker, though I love rum. I've found the tiniest bit of whiskey leaves me with a hangover. I'll have the odd whiskey and ginger but drinking it the way you're supposed to? I'm not there yet. But even if I don't learn all there is to know about whiskey, I can at least look the part. In a perfect world, this might be something I'd wear:

But alas, flapper dresses look terrible on me. At the risk of sounding conceited and whiny, I have big boobs and not the foggiest idea of what to do with them when it's time to channel the 20s. Thank goodness the 30s brought back attention to the waist! I've looked a tons of photos of 1920s "street style" but it seems women shaped like me just acquiesced to drowning in fabric. Suggestions, ladies?

  1. I love the slow way of sipping on brandy, but when I order drinks I go for the tequila, no hangover, I like straight shots, with a little salt. I also love the look of the 30s, no ideas what to do with larger breasts for the 20s style, do you watch Boardwalk Empire? Maybe a large hat and long sets of pearls, to bring the eye up then down. Didn't they sometimes wrap a scarf around the hips. Anyways, hope you had a great time at the East Ville des Folies.

Thanks so much for your comments!
