Maddicts at the Roosevelt

Sunday my friend and I got all dressed up in our 1960s best for the Mad Men season 6 premiere party at the Roosevelt Hotel's Madison Club. The Roosevelt worked with Maker's Mark to bring us free Manhattans.

The Madison Club is exactly the sort of dark wood-paneled place you'd expect Don &co. to hang out.  Even if there hadn't been a costume contest, I would've tried to dress the part. But since there was, I went all out:

1960s raw silk sheath - Etsy
Bow belt - Bettie Page Clothing
Shoes (so uncomfortable) - Nina
And my friend looked pretty nice too!

It was so nice to see so many people come out and dressed up for the event but it also meant I had to share a seat during the premiere. No spoilers for those of you still waiting to watch the season premiere but I will say it felt sort of boring. Nothing terribly surprising and two hours is a long time for nothing to happen.

Unfortunately, I found out at the end of the night that I didn't win the costume contest. The woman who won was period-accurate in her makeup only. Her hot pink peplum dress was just way off. I hate to nitpick, but I get cranky when there's a big bar tab at stake.

Anywho, the Madison Club will keep doing screening throughout the season which pretty exciting. Maybe I'll go back.

On another note, I have a Facebook page for the blog now, and you can follow along on bloglovin (RIP Google Reader and Friend Connect).

*re: the title: Maddicts are like trekkies but well-dressed ones who love liquor. I swear this is a real thing.

  1. Hey there! This is your seat-sharer. You looked FAB that night and so glad to have watched with you. There is an article on line with your picture (mine, too!) in it.

Thanks so much for your comments!
