Femme Fatale Lipstick

Over at Independent Fashion Bloggers, they're asking everyone to share their favorite lipstick with the group. Which is great because I've been wearing a wonderful lipstick I haven't written about yet It's darker than my normal red (MAC Red) so I like to think of it as a femme fatale shade. You know, more Ava Gardner than Doris Day. I wear it almost exclusively at night.

It's called Rouge Artist Intense 44 from Make Up For Ever. It's so smooth and creamy with rich, rich pigment. The color is a blue-red that's almost berry. I love shades like these for  20s and 30s-inspired looks. And it has a great smell! I can't even think what else I would want in a lipstick. It's like wearing the heels that make you feel most fabulous, but on your face.

Unfortunately, Sephora doesn't carry a pencil that exactly matches this lip color. But the makeup artist there showed me the BITE lip primer and it's kind of changed my life. You use it to line the lips so your color doesn't smudge and the sides to prime the whole lip. That lipstick does. Not. Move.

What's your favorite lipstick?
